How do you guys keep your rims clean from brake dust/filings?

Please share? (Got a tooth brush in my right hand and a bucket of dishwashing liquid soap in the next ~ Mr Knutz)

Thanks

I wax mine and give them a quick wash at least once a week. No build up here!

You won't get around having the dust show up. Just have to be vigilant in keeping them clean.

Toothbrush is a good way, but i find just a wash cloth and car soap is enough to make them shine. But like colonel said, at least once a week rinse them off and wipe off the dust.

I personally use McGuiers Hot Rims once every week when I wash my car and it leaves them nice and shiney. It's better if you do it often cause then you don't have to spend alot of time on them. I used the hot rims stuff on my friends ride which hasn't been cleaned in months and after two applications they looked like brand new minus the scrubbing

I wash mine about once a week with car soap. I try to clean inside the wheels, but my hands don't fit. After about 3-4 months after owning it, I took off each wheel and washed the inside of it. Made them look really nice.

Maguire's Hot Rims (weekly/biweekly) + Maguire's Gold Class Liquid Wax (bimonthly/quarterly) = shiny rims.

Where can I get Maguire hot rims?

Pardon me also for asking the original question a bit vague . I meant to ask about trying to clean the flat inner part of the rim.

Thanks

It's a spray bottle with like purple liquid costs like 4 or 5 bucks I got it at Advanced Auto Zone, it's not really a rare item so you should be set wherever you go...

I get Hot Rims @ Target or Wal-mart, I found a product in the "house" cleaning section at W-M that can be described as a mop-on-a-shaft. It's great for reaching back to the inner rim (which isn't too difficult on my Borbets).

Use a toothbrush and some car wash. At least that's what I do. I've heard Simple Green to work too, but I haven't tried it. If you're that ****, you can take off your wheel once a month and give it a good scrubbing. Just be sure not to scrub the visible part of the wheel cause you might scratch the finish. Another way to clean the interior of the wheel is to take a sponge with some car wash on it and slide your hand in there if it's small enough. I do this too.

I think he's talking about the inside of the rim, the part that encircles the brake I'm guessing?

Well, these wheels (16" on 2k SE) are a breeze compared to the alloy wheels on the 3rd gen. Max.
I keep them waxed, don't hammer the brakes hard and I really don't have a dust build up problem. Just wash the wheels when I was the car every 10 - 14 days.
