on the nj turnpike a black c3 takes the shoulder to pass me and my cousins in a 90 na 300zx as we're crusing at about 70mph. i had one passenger ,a full almost a full tank of gas, and about 100pds of luggage.we give chase after him as he's weaving through traffic at 80mph like nothing ,i could'nt try to pass him because of traffic so i just shadowed him until we got stuck behind a suv ,my cousins gets caught in traffic but i catch up to him and pass him at a little over 100mph and slowdown as does he and wait doing about 80mph,he's stays about a car length behind when he punches it and i downshift to 3rd and he's almost even with me until i hit 4th gear and slowly pull away.man those things are quick,has anybody else ever raced one ,i thought those trucks were suppose to compete with the ford lightning,maybe he just playing with me?

 

They are quick but at those speeds you got a chance. If you punched from 80-95 WOT and he was only slowly gaining on you that would seem right to me. Too bad you didn't get to open up 4th...that would have been interesting fo' sho'

 

Well.....a c3 will NOT compete with a lightning. The C3 runs 0-60 in around 7.3 seconds. The problem with your race is that(and I'm not being a jerk) is that a na 5sp 300zx is not all that fast. I think at best it runs 0-60 in around 7 seconds. Its the turbo 5sp that runs 6 or under.

The lighting will run 60 is UNDER 6 seconds.

 

those damn turcks has torque in all of their rpm.

It's sad seeing people abusing their torque. Their torque are for hauling $hitz, but they used it for speed....sigh...

 

but those gm trucks all have a speed limiter of 100, once you hit that, the fuel cuts off and the car slows down dramatically. my dad has a tahoe and he was burnin this riced out civic and all of a sudden, bam, he hits the limiter and the civic cruises by. sucks doesn't it.

Lingenfelter (the corvette aftermarket guy) made one of those for a toy with 500hp and all wheel drive. He said that there was quite a few he had made that were on the road. 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. They look totally stock too.
