Tools Required:
1 10mm Socket
1 Socket Adapter
1 Ratchet
1 6 Pack of Beer (your choice on manufacturer)
Battery Removal Instructions:
Put the rachet/socket assembly together.
Put socket on the 10mm nut on the negative post.
Turn several times (remember left loosie, righty tighty).
Pull straight up and negative cable will come off terminal.
If you want to remove the entire battery, repeat above instructions for the positive terminal.
One word of advice ... be careful not to turn ratchet so far as to touch the positive terminal and the negative terminal together. You could be burned or worst case scenerio, blow the battery up. Also don't smoke over the battery as the Hydrogen fumes that might be escaping from the battery are extremly flamible.
There you have it. Now that the work is done, finish the 6 pack and enjoy the feeling of doing a job well done!
battery
Don't worry too much about the battery, just make sure you don't touch both terminals at the same time with both your hands (you will get electricity arching over your heart and could cause a heart attack)
but just touching the negative terminal can't hurt you.

A friend of mine was checking his oil, and some static electricty FROM HIS NYLON JACKET caused his battery to explode.
He was lucky, no battery parts rearraged his face.Nasty, nasty, nasty. Don't be afraid of it, but do use some caution.

always stand with one foot in a pail of water and one foot on the ground while working with the battery. this will help in case you contact the hot side

Just touching the two terminals won't hurt you unless your wet. If you are sweating or doing something in the rain however be careful because it will give you a little jolt.
I remember when I was working on a truck one time. It was so damn hot I was sweating like never before. My shorts were completely soaked in sweat. I was leaning up against the bumper of the car (the ground point for anyone who needs a chart) and then I touched the positive battery terminal not paying attention and not knowing it would have any effect. Its not a painful shock but more like licking a 9v battery. (come on we've all done it ... licked a 9v to see if it was still good)
But just be carefull, with sparks and don't touch the two terminals. If anyone has read their owner's manual or any owner's manual for that matter, they talk about "jumping" a battery. You are supposed to put the positves together on both batteries. Negative on the good battery and negative on a ground point on the car for the bad battery car. They do this because sparks can fly after the terminals are connected. These sparks can ignite the Hydrogen that is released and then *boom*
grr, i cant losen the nut!
its real small, and the nut is in a tight spot.
my wrench/rachet/pliars/fingers/everything doesnt have enough room to turn it.

Don't worry, just don't let the positive and negative terminals touch each other. I almost f***** myself up
