I know I'm new and I'm asking a tons of questions...I done a search on the break in period and found alot of usefull info. I just have one question regarding the 1000 mile break-in at diffrent speeds. My dealer had to locate the car I wanted at a diffrent dealership 450 miles away. They had a driver drive the car to my dealership. They racked up 450 miles on it. Is this bad...what if the driver drove the car for 450 miles doing 65 or 70 MPH. I would say that doesn't fall under what the manual says about proper break in. Should I mention this to my dealer. I know they will say the driver took every precaution possiable not to exceed 60mph and varied the speed of the car. Should I be concerned???????????

Um...Don't worry, just drive it and don't kill it. If you have automatic just keep it in Drive with overdrive on, and don't faq around too much with downshifting.

Hopefully he didn't have the car on cruise all the way though. That's one of the big no-no's of the break-in period.

So true. Good point... the engine needs to be excercised throughout all the RPMs

I didnt even read the manual, I have over 1000 Miles now and I drove it just like I drive the accord, just like how i drive normally, 50-85 hwy (occassionally over 110 MPH only twice!!! just to see how fast it got there! while test driving the damn thing) I shouldve read the damn manual and kept it where it suggests!!

I didnt mess too much with the auto tranny though, didnt try downshifting much or didnt drive without the OD.

I did however downshift or disengage the OD twice just to see how big of a diff it really made (was doing about 45-55 MPH) but turned it back on right away.

man i sure hope i didnt mess anything up! this is my first nissan!

BTW, what you guyz think is the best time to get the first oil change?
