indiglo lights

Since no one actually makes those for the 5th generation I have thought of doing something different.
You know how the new Jetta has blue lights, the actual light that lights up the numbers on the dashboard are blue.
So I figure, can we make something like that. Take the dash apart and instead of a white lightbulb put a blue one in there. My friend took his dash apart(he has a 4th generation) and he told me that his lights, the ones behind the dash, are the same as our corner lights. So I was thinking going down to a local shop, getting those lights blue, as blue as they come, and then taking the dash apart this weekend and making our numbers blue. What do you guys think? has anyone did or tried this before?

Most of the dash lights are like 2.2watts. I did that it my Mercedes and changed the bulbs and instead put a 5watt bulb and did not care that it was onl 3watts more. I was like "it is make it look nice and brighter"
Next thing you know I melted the whole socket and the plastic around that bulb and could not even remove the bastard to fix it. Ended up costing me $450 at the dealer to replace it.
