Although I love BMW's and would like nothing more than to own a new M3, I will still add my piece to put your embarrassing comments in their place. Why would you care what other people have posted? It may be true. It may be false. Who really gives a $hit in the end (other than somebody with an insecurity on the issue)? Automobiles are things of beauty, works of art. I would have thought somebody with the money to buy a BMW would have acquired the sophistication and maturity to rise above the "my dik's bigger than yours" mentality. You obviously haven't. I envy your car but I pity you.

1995 740i/iL are plain slow off-the-line. Our automatics can even beat it to 60mph. But from then on, the 740i/iL gain. The guy who posted about the race never mentioned the year. So it could be a 1992 or a 1995. Who knows? "none of your rice burners will ever have the pleasure of beating a Bavarian Auto." Those 318i/is are killers. We should all watch out for them!

1. When the Max got MT car of the year in 95, MT was quoted as saying something like, This performs like a BMW and not the small one. ie 540. I have the original mag.

2. Nissan advertised and had the numbers to back it up, that the Max accel .2s faster or slower (either way it's close) to the BMW 540 (auto). Hmm V6 vs $$V8$$ That doesn't say much for a car that cost so much.

Today the 540 is very fast and very expensive.

If a person is blessed to have money like that for a car, then it's a $$ issue not car, and they should be thankful for the privilege.
