A friend of mine told me he went to a local Nissan dealer to buy a new '01 AE Maxima. He went for the test drive, and told me it was awesome. Everything was fine until he talked price with the salesman. Lowest price the salesman offered was $33k. His intial offer was $35k! Crazy...of course my friend walked out of the dealership. He's going to another dealer, and see if he can get a more reasonable deal.

hmm

I'd rather have a regular 2k SE. Unless you want it for collection purposes or somethin You could easily put all the extra's on your car (lights, pedals, door sills, shifter, engine cover?, and if you really wanted to probably even the leather) And it wont cost you 10k, thats for sure

Last week I saw a 20th anniversary maxima for $36,000 al a local dealership!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Thats almost $10,000 more than what I payed for a fully loaded 2K max SE 5spd. Ive dumped about $2000 worth of goodies into my 2K Max and it looks alot better than the $36,000 Max at the dealership!

My dealer had one for $35k for a manual... sticker was like $30-31... Then there was a little piece of paper next to it that read: "Dealer markup $$$$" "Total $35,xxx"

"Dealer markup"??? Damn.. at least they're honest about it.
