This seems to be a dead issue lately, and I need some help from anyone who has had warranty paint work performed. After a 5 month haggle with the dealer, the service manager finally agreed to paint my sandblasted lower doors and rocker panels. I thought this was a partial victory as they would not do the hood or the front bumper cap.I took it to the dealer owned bodyshop, where it sat for a week, only to receive a call that the Nissan rep came by to look at it and denied the work! It boils down to the fact that the service manager lied to me, he said he had talked to the rep and the work was approved beforehand. Of course this seemed counter to the process as I read it in this forum. I thought the rep had to SEE the car before approving any work.
Now I'm sensing a big cover up as my original work order that I took from the dealer to the body shop went from "repaint lower doors and rocker panels" to "customer states left and right side doors paint oxidized"!! 1.800.nissan1 has yet to resolve this problem, and will not give me the # to even contact the "rep" who supposedly did the inspection!
Needless to say ,I need help with this issue. I really need anyone to contact me in this forum, or e/mail, if you've had any experience with warranty paint work. If there's any lawyers out there let me know what you think because I think this is bordering on criminal, especially with the work order cover up.
If anyone knows what's happening w/ nissanpaint.com I would appreciate that info also. 1800nissan1 is oblivious to that site(or so they say)By the way, the dealer is ATLANTIC AUTO MALL West Islip, Long Island NY. DO NOT GO THERE!

I hate to hear that Nissan is yanking your chain like that...and it is wrong. I started the thread on paint issues that led to my work on content for the Nissanpaint.com website. For several weeks now, and due to a long silent period of not hearing anything, I've tried to contact the forum member that set the site up in order to collect whatever responses we have and get something going.

I haven't heard anything from him and wonder even if he is still around...no response to emails, no activity from him in the forum...and I never had a phone number on him that I can go to.

Frustrating to me for the energy put into getting it off the ground and dissappointing for others that signed on. So, unfortunately, I can't offer you any help based on that initiative, but I'm trying everything I can to get some action. I think if anything, direct those morons to that one thread that has over 8,000 hits and more than 200 replies...let them go see the web site that we set-up to collect information. If they think you are a one-off whiner and they'll just push you aside, maybe they will have another think coming if they see that this is NOT an isolated case and you are NOT the only one that is getting peeved about not only the poor quality paint we are stuck with, but obviously the moronic, don't give a dang attitude. Offer these guys your payment book for a couple months and see if they feel differently about the paint problems.

what a joke...and good luck...we're watching, and with you!

I've been through process... the paint rep *must* see the car. When done properly, Nissan (800 number) will know your claim, inspection results, and quote to fix when you call.

when I did my first claim, there were alot of cars there for the inspection. many were much worse than mine. My second paint issue is for the same area you mention. I've been waiting for the inspector for 3 months now!!! the first time took about 3 weeks. You are not alone.

Thanks Guys

Thanks for the info. I hope the complaint site is still functioning because I plan on using that in my written complaint to Nissan, as well as the complaint to BBB. We can all look forward to looking like LeBats car in the attachment to the thread "longer splashguards available"! I really love this car and was looking forward to many more upgrades, but now I am considering cutting my losses and buying a crew cab truck. At least they sit up high, and out of the salt, debris, and **** !
