now here's prolly why i hit that number... i kno i could do better tho.. it was my first time dragging at the strip and last time.. and also my first time dragging a auto.. i've only raced stick cars prior to this..(street drags)

i took all this out the nite prior to the race. i was bored out of my mind as usual. and it's not the frist time i've done that. nor the last. but was the frist and last time i've taken off the passenger seats tho.. i unclippsed the airbag wiring and then the airbag light started flashing.. uh oh.. so i brought it back to the dealer.

I saw the pics!! Just right click and go to properties and paste the url into the browser! That's a lot of dedication for dragging. I wouldn't want to see my MAX like that ever again.

For anyone who wants to see the pics, you can get the url from the properties on the image. Pull it up in a browser and you'll get the error message the first time, hit refresh and you can see the image. Man I have too much free time at work.

 

WHat you should have done is this......

go to the track a few times so you could get a feel for what your car could do with all the (seats....consol..doors...lol...spare) and then you could compare the difference. You can still do it...but it won't be as accurate.

Those are some pretty scary pictures! I better never hear ou talk about the ratttles and humz in your car....it is all your fault! Nope....I would never do that to my car...when things get taken apart like that they never go back together in the same condition.

Did you weigh all of the stuff that came of?

Did people at the track think you were crazy for gutting the car for a couple of runs?

 

Never tried and probably never will. I'd hate to go through the reinstallation process.

But we did that once with my friends Camry when installing stereo and wirings.......stripped the entire car, took out all the carpets and seats.....looked worse than Mingo's pic....ya, those cheap a*s camrys.....

 

Hats of to you Mingo. My best run was 15.4 @ 89 MPH with my fat butt behind the wheel and junk in the trunk and 1/4 tank of gas. Did you scan the timeslip?

Mingo that is awesome. I've seen people take out the spare tire and jack, but this takes the prize! How long did it take to strip it down for the track and put it back together.

What other times were you running?

 

not that long. i spent half the night prior to the drag. and i slapped it all back together once i got home fromt he strip.. i love the maxima cuz it's so easy to strip down adn stuff. that just makes it easier for me to custom stuff when i get more stereo components. i have my time slips posted too. it's posted on the 5th gen under "time slips" http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.phtml?threadid=6264

"DAYAMM, who ever did this car must be a freak" then i open the car with my keys. and he shuts up. hehehe. oh yeah and the stock sub?? i removed it long before the drag because i had 2twelves that replaces those.

I've seen high performance car mags in which they show how to remove other parts to shave time... like the AC compressor and other stuff under the hood. I think they took out the power steering pump too.

 

oh.. i didn't wanna go that far. i took my brothers power steering and ac compressor off. i was affraid of powertrain warranty issues... since it's linked by a belt and stuff.. i didn't take the ac blower motor off tho. i did all the easy stuff.
