I have a stock car. I drove other cars, but mine feels weird, it takes more of a clutch pedal movement to engage/disengage. The pedal itself is positioned a little higher than the accelerator. Really have to work your clutch for a smooth ride. The service dept. said it is normal, thats the way all Nissans are. Is there any way to adjust the clutch pedal so I dont have to pump it like in a truck?

what does a fuel cut off has to do with a clutch? Although my car jerks sometime in the 1st so it does in the 2nd and 3rd, its just my foot dropping the clutch...my issue is that I have to swing it in full with my clutch pedal. I drove my friends' 97 Civic and his clutch engaged at the end..but the pedal movement wasn't half a mile like on my car. It is alright, but really takes me a while to get used to.

I know that they don't sound related, but when the mechanic reprogrammed my ECU as directed in the TSB, the feel of my clutch changed. It seems to engage a lot more smoothly now in comparison to before. I don't know if anyone else had the same experience as me, but it really did wonders for my initial start in first from a stop.

I'm up for that! My wife has a 2K GXE auto and I can drive her car much more comfortably than my SE 5-speed. The reason is because I have relatively short legs (29.5" inseam) and I have to sit much closer to the steering wheel in my car to depress the clutch. In her car, I can sit about 3" further to the rear.

At one point, I thought about putting some kind of pedal extension on the clutch pedal so I could sit further back. But I haven't figured out how to do that yet. Maybe something like this would work:

Unfortunately the service tech is right. Our clutch peddles are soft and it is hard to figure out where it engages/disengages. And yes you really do have to work it to get a smooth ride. As for adjustment - none that I know of.

That looks like it's easy enough to do And it's relatively cheap too...

well I am short too...but I drove so many cars with manual. Dont mind the clutch pedal being soft, its just the engage/disengage that ****es off. I like Honda's clutch, BMW's.

I buddy of mine had some luck with very carefully adjusting the threaded rod from the pedal to the clutch cylinder. His pedal seems to feel slightly better than mine(lower engagement)

Guys, not sure if the maxima clutch is adjustable, but my supra has a rod where you can adjust the throw on the clutch. Try not to lower the pedal too much or else it'll burn the disk.
