If you want to wire the highbeams like Ice's diagram, get the Hella relay that comes with a fuse mount built-in. That way you don't need to add an in-line fuse coming off your battery.

If you wire the highbeams like IceY2k1 shows, there is a slight leakage that allows the high beam indicator to light. Also, there is an increaded voltage drop when the circuit includes the light switch.

Wire the highbeam as follows:

Tap off battery (14 gauge wire for minimum voltage drop). Run this new wire to one of the contact sides of the relay (if you use a Helly, it would be 30 or 87). From the other side of the relay go to either wire for the high beam. The other high beam wire goes to a body ground.

For the other two terminals for the relay (85 and 86) tap into the power side of the current headlamps (P/B or OR/B wires) connect the other terminal to the highbeam ground ((L/W or LG/B depending on side).

When you switch to highbeams, the relay will close and highbeams light.

I will be looking through the theft alarm circuits to see how to wire high beams only.

got off the phone with daveb today and he mentioned that he'll be stocking some nissan oem relays very soon, like a couple days. i don't know if they'll serve the same purpose but just thought i'd toss that in there.
i'll be checking ice's hid writeup later on tonight to see if there's an update for the relay install.

the thing is ... neither of the 2 big ... or should we say kiddies .. sheesh ... innovators have a final version that is absolutely trouble free ... that's why all these other posts keep popping up ...
