I ordered some front and rear clears to put on my car. I noticed that most people who had the front/rear clears had white bulbs underneath. I like that look a lot more than the red bulbs. Does anyone have any recommendations on what type of bulbs to get?

Also I thought I read that the white bulbs were illegal? Is this true or am I just imagining things. Any advice would be great. Thanks!!

 

I think the law differs by states...in Illinois, you can actually have side markers that are "non glare" white. But they can't blink though...I think...

those are the ones i got. eh it depends on the cop. i never got pulled over for them though. you can see them in my sig pic.

 

I got Hybrid Superwhite wedge bulbs.

Got them on eBay for like $5 a pair.

 

I was pulled over last night (here in MS) and the cop told me that my side markers (Polarg M-4s) and my front turn signals (Optiblues) were both illegal and subject to a $500 fine. He let me go, but here's my take - I think the Optiblues got his attention and he nitpicked the side markers as an afterthought, so I just changed the turn sigs back to yellow. I hate regressing!

 

UPDATE:

Having clear sidemarkers even with amber/red colored bulbs are illegal in the state of Connecticut, NY, NJ, and Mass. My Maxima didn't pass DMV inspection with the amber bulbs on clear sidemarkers and I was forced to put the amber ones back on.
