raced the 6 speed pontiac on the parkway he started tailgating me ,i drop into 3rd and and go he hangs with me up to about 100mph then he gets cought in traffic trying to pass me,i slow down and he comes flying up to catch me i go into 3rd again take it up to about 120mph and he's about 2cars behind ,i flash the hazerds and he follows me to my exit.i ask him was he playing with me because he shoulda killed me he's checking out my car with this funny look on his face
and says he was worried about crashing his car,more like he needed to practice how to downshift,lol.later i see a late model svt mustang on route 22 east i get right behind him in which time he floors it and puts 2cars on me,we go threw a long curve were i pass him tires screaming and get ahead about 3 car lengths because he had to slow down for the turn,of course he walkes me by the time he did i was doing over 115mph
at about the end of my 4thgear he is about 2 1/4 to 3 car lengths ahead when we stop the guy was real cool he signals me to pull over and tells me to run for money next time ,i'm like yeah right.anyway his car was a 5speed covertible.nice to know i can at least keep up a little

hmmm...with your mods you should have walked that cobra over 100, at least the late model...dunno about the new one though....the ones before 99 are DOGS up high, they can't even hit 140mph!!! My buddy even took a new 260 hp 5-speed GT with his STOCK 5-speed 2k max on the highway. That cobra was probably a little modded.Originally posted by QUANSUNG

C'mon man how can you be going 120 mph in 3rd gear? Doing 8000 rpm? LOL. I didn't want to redline mine, but estimate 100mph in 3rd max. My car is stock, but looking at your mods I doubt this will give you more speed..rather improve dynamicsOriginally posted by QUANSUNG

Chances are the Cobra had gears, they fall on there face if they shift to 5th. As far as top end the Cobra has a rev happy 4 cam motor so highway runs are pretty good for them up to about 120mph.
The Formula would have beat the $hit out of him if the guy knew how to drive. The LS1 will beat brand new Cobras both quater mile and top speed runs.
Funny how a driven Maxima can have an even game with a non driven LS1!
