AE sills are have a metal insert with the word MAXIMA embossed on them. They look very classy and refined. They were originally offered with the 2001 Anniversary Edition Maxima SE (hence, AE), but can be bought aftermarket for other 5th gen Maximas.

Open your front driver side door, look down at the bottom area next to your seat at the edge of where the door goes. The plastic bar that covers the rim of the door, that's a door sill. One for each door. They're the same color as the interior of your car.

How does one replace these sills. Do they just pry off? I don't see any screws holding them on.

Yeah, they gotta be the easiest things to install other than seatbelt pads
Takes 2 min of your time all u gotta do is pull the plastic ones off (after using a screwdriver to lift it up) and click the aluminum AEs in.
They look classy and all, but there are better ways to spend $60-80. You only see the sills when the doors are open, so it's pretty much useless to have fancy looking ones IMO. Even if I think that I still like em and won't be putting the cheap 5 cent plastic ones Nissan installs back on
