2002 Altima

It's been a long time since I was on here. I miss my 2000 Maxima and am enjoying my 2001 Pathfinder very much. For all of those that didn't believe me when I stated that the new Altima would have 240hp and that I really didn't work at Nissan, I hate to say it but I told you so. Now that I have boasted, here is what I have to say. The factory randomly chose a few employees to test drive the new Altimas for 24 hours. I was one of the few chosen ones. I am the proud 24 hour owner of a brand new 3.5 SE. This thing really flys. If you thought the Maxima was fast, so is the Altima. I would think if you could unrestrict the exhaust, the hp would be the same as the 2002 Maxima. It rides as good or better than the 2000 Maxima I had. Makes me want to trade for an Altima.

Good to see you post again. Yea...I just did a search and read some of your posts way back and you were deff not lying. Its funny to read how some people jump down someones throat for no reason.

Keep us updated.....is it a 5sp or auto? and what are your impressions of the interior build quality(mainly squeaks? rattles? do you like the door trim? )

The interior was cloth and would have been much better if it were leather. Believe it or not there were absolutely no squeeks or rattles of any sort. Just for your information, the truck lid and hood are made out of aluminum. When you raise the hood you would think it has hydraulics it is so light. The hood compartment is cram packed full of engine, lots of truck space, nice digital instruments but I didn't like the orange glow of the backgound lights. No slip between gears at all. The shifter was a littler confusing. It has a gate type shift from drive to overdrive, no more overdrive buttons. It pulled way harder than my Maxima.
