Really Weird G-tech Results
Went out today at lunch in search of the lonliest stretch of highway within close reach of work. I know they say g-techs MPH high, but I didn't expect this:
1st run- 15.10 @99.6 MPH (?!)
2nd run- 15.30 @98.4 MPH
This is my totally stock '00 5-speed SE, full tank, car full of everyday items, engine 30 min of driving hot. Was trying to launch fairly gently at 28-2900 RPM, still a lot 'o spin & some hop. Hit rev limiter @ 1-2 on 2nd run. 3rd run was cancelled due to circling cops. Anyone with other g-tech results/input?
Regards, David Burnette

haha thanks for the info. and do you just plug it in or is there other install options.

They are pretty precise... do some runs on a stretch of road, install a mod and do more runs on the same stretch of road. I'll use it only for that because it's not really that accurate. CalsonicSE used my G-tech and got a 1 second difference (0-60) going up and down the same street (different directions).
You just plug it into a your 12V adapter to power it. I believe their site is http://www.gtechpro.com

I wouldn't trust g-tech for anything...
my friend's Z32 showed 13.90 once though (in a 12sec car) with a 4.9 0-60sec
I borrowed his, did a lap in my CRX with street tires, came back with 1.08 lateral constant G-forces.
I don't trust it.

Thanks for the input guys, the whole g-tech deal was about what I expected. An interesting note: when I went back for run 2, there were two straight, even, 15-20 foot black stripes on the pavement from run 1. With no LSD! Makes you wonder!

I did a little testing with my G-Tech yesterday and got:
0-60 = 6.22{full tank of gas}
1/4 = 14.8 94mph.
I think the thing is pretty accurate, the key is to do your tests on a flat level surface, any bumps will screw the thing up.
BTW my I30{when SC and all} got the following #'s
0-60 = 5.44
1/4 14.28 @ 107MPH. The trap does seem a bit to high on that run but I did have massive wheelspin{as always}.

Yea make sure you use a very level surface, since an incline will make the GTECH think that your car is creating all the positive G force (going up hill, tilts the GTECH up) therefore making it think you've completed 0-60 and 1/4 in a very short amount of time, case in point, my 1991 honda accord lightly modded going i went 60 in 7.1 secs, thats wayyyyyy too fast, that 91 accord with intake could never do that unless I was spraying, and after I hit 60, I slowed down and the road started to go down hill, and the GTECH started measuring 60-0, the hill was fairly steep, and for the hell of it i slammed my brakes, initiating ABS and all, and at about 38 mph, the GTECH stopped, and said my 60-0 was 98 feet, THATS UNBELIEVEABLE TIME FOR A SEDAN , LET ALONE A PORSCHE!

Thanks for your summary of Kevin's response Nauman. I don't think I would understand Kevin with it.
