Curious about a couple things:

1) Anyone who has this mod, how was the removal of the ECU? All I know is that I had a hell of a time trying to get an AE auto shift **** onto my 2K...don't want to spend 4 hours trying to get the ECU out and then back!

2) Is the mod worth it? $400.00 is a pretty hefty tag. Jet Chip site says 15+ HP, is this reliable?

3) How are Jet Chip's instructions? Again, I simply don't have the time to spend 4+ hours trying to get the ECU out (can be tricky from what I've read/heard).

4) whatever happened to the G-Force ECU upgrade for the 5th Gen's?!?!

5) Any chance, if enough people are interested, we could get a group buy deal going?

no one has jet chip cause it doesn't do anything.

 

I have the Jet chip, and yes it does do something. Removing the ECU takes maybe an hour, and it makes a big difference above 100 MPH and 4000 RPM's. Is it worth 400 dollars.....i thought so, but to some more conservative people it's a waste. I suggest it.

Hey Nick and Azn, why don't you guys recommend it? Do you know people who have it or do you have it yourself?

 

i have heard many stories about people see no gains after installation. Jeff can shed more light on this.

 

The details from the one or two people that have it are shaky... Even if it don't give 15 hp it must to somthing even if it's reving faster higher no speed govner better shift points...if it does that it pays for it self....plus if you got alot of mods and it does those things even without 15 hp more it's worth it. Maybe those that have it don't have enough mods maybe they do and there right but i don't think theres enought details at this point.
why not ask jet what they gauntee as far as non hp things.

 

I think the Jet ECU is more of a downgrade

 

people have dynoed and it gave the same amount of hp and in some cars even a loss. Ask Y2KevSE about this, i just got this info off him

 

many have seen no gains from the Jet ECU upgrade.

No, i think the best bang for the buck is the y-pipe, but this chip made a pretty significant difference in my car. Anyone want to race with similar mods and see?

 

Hey se01, how's the car launch from a dead stop? I'm not too concerned about 100+ MPH, Only place I can really do that in Central/North Jersey is on the Parkway/Turnpike and there've been mad unmarked police/troopers lately...makes me uneasy. Heh, three weeks ago I saw 3 unmarked cars pull over three people within 300 feet of each other!

So to sum up my question, did the Jet Chip add any "umph" to your launch?

Yes, it made as much of a difference as my y-pipe did. Which was pretty significant.
