2K1 SE Prices?
I was curious if any of you 5th gen guys bought within the last month. I was visiting some friends over the weekend and the local Nissan dealer has three 2K1 SE 5 speeds with C&C on the lot. I'm really tempted to trade in my 96 GLE slush box for one of these cars. Unfortunately, the dealer was closed so I couldn't talk to them but I would like to know what I can realistically expect to pay for the car. Thanks in advance.

I'm so ****ed at myself for not buying earlier because Nissan is no longer offering special financing. I will go to the dealer this weekend and see what the deal is. Most of the dealers in my area (NYC) have 02 Maximas only and some have a few 01 leftovers. I saw the 01 SEs in Newburgh, NY. They had all 01 and no 02s! I figure I will be able to get a better deal there since they have more inventory to move. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for your response.

Don't know why you would want a 01 with 02s already aviable.... You should be able to get a 01 for up to $1000 below invoice (there are heavy dealer incentives). But the 02 priceing is cheaper, considering options, and much more powerfull and they are already aviable at invoice in many areas.

Got mine on July 10th for $24,200 with tax, title, etc. included, sticker was 27,900 without tax. Also got the 3.9% financing through NMAC. Good deal in my book. Not sure where that left me on invoice but it was close I suspect.

I would take an 01 because I want a manual trans. The 02 6-speed are very hard to find (when they come out) and most are pre-sold. I can't imagine what I would have to pay for one. The 01 is a good value if I can buy one cheap. I'm afraid if I wait, it will be difficult to buy any new manual Maxima in the future.

Pricing
Hey guys,
Just got mine in San Juan Capistrano, Los angeles Area. Got mine for 26,200 (this was $600 BELOW invoice) and got the 3.9%. Making ridiculous payments of 399 a month to purchase the thing.
Specs.
Maxima SE 2K1.
Sterling Mist
BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR (a true rarity on white or any other color this late in the season; September 4, 2001)
Bose Sound
Painted Splash Guards
Wind Deflector
6 disc changer
Auto
Auto Temp Control
I put 7000 down. With 3.9%
It an awesome look and drive. But could use some better, more responsive handling. The car feels too light when it goes over any type of road imbalance.
Good Luck.

The car is a 5 speed because I won't drive an automagic. It is fully loaded with BOSE and 6 cd changer, SE C&C package, Leather trim package, Meridian edition, microfilter, sunroof and deflector, floor mats, painted splash guards. I think I have everything you can possibly have except automagic.
I tried the heated seats tonight and the high setting sure makes those buns nice and toasty.

MSRP is listed as $29,740 with my options which is exactly listed on my sticker.
Invoice is listed as $26,569.
Edmunds TRUE value is listed as $26,757.
No way is invoice as low as you say. But, I did overpay.

MSRP: $29,740
Invoice: $27,073
Cars direct price: $27,223
This site agrees with the invoice that I paid. Which one is right, edmunds or carsdirect?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: 2K1 SE Prices?
This is what I got from KBB.
MSRP 29740
Invoice 26569
Probably wasn't appropriate to compare it to mine... as Mine was a 2000 Model... it was an auto, but didn't have Meridian or CD Changer (was in-dash). But I knew/though the difference between invoice-sticker was bigger than that

Look to get very very very close to the red number on edmunds, its almost always below invoice. Thats the price you should shoot for.

Thank you for your overwhelming response. As far as I can see, most of you got your maxima at invoice price when the 3.9% fonancing was in place. I'm planning on visiting the dealer this weekend. I will see what they offer. I feel a reasonable price would be 500-1000 below invoice considering the 2k2 have been here for a month and the special financing is over. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a large factory to dealer incentive on 2k1 Maximas to move all the old inventory out. I'll keep you posted.
