Stock H3 Harness...and assorted bulb stuff

Couple quickies....

1) What do you guys think is the maximum wattage the stock fog harness can handle?

2) Why are Raybrig Magnums so damn expensive? Are they THAT good?!?

3) How are the Nokya's?

4) How's Hiper Industries?

5) Oh and one final Q, do we have ground switched or non-ground switched type lighting systems?

I'm currently running Catz H4's and H3's...not bad, but

Thanks ppl.

The harness can handle a lot its just that your fog light casing might melt

2) Why are Raybrig Magnums so damn expensive? Are they THAT good?!?

People here like them a lot. You can probably find them cheaper if you keep looking.

3) How are the Nokya's?

They suck big time. And don't get these.

3) 4) How's Hiper Industries?
They suck too. I hate these as much as i hate nokya

3) 5) Oh and one final Q, do we have ground switched or non-ground switched type lighting systems?

Damn man, some strong emotions there....I did a search on them and people seem to like the Nokya's? I found them at eautoworks.com for $46 per pair for the Nokya Arctic Purple 100/90 bulbs. Is it the build quality with the Nokya and the Hipers?

You know anywhere I can find the Raybrigs at a decent price? I've looked at probably 5 sites and all around $100...

Thanks for the heads up man.

Anyone else want to put in their two cents?

Err try to stay away from Nokia.
Try some Catz or PIAAS.
Or My fav Kotio white beam. They are just really really white.
Ask UMD for the raybirgs man

First of all the maximum wattage on the stock harness can be about 150watts, at that point it will begin to melt the insulation. This i know for a fact and been tested.

Hiper bulbs to be are fine, I dont believe in spending $50-75 for a pair of bulbs that fry out quicker than stock bulbs. Rather spend the $20 for Hiperbulbs and they give out almost the same color.

We have a GROUND switched system in our H4 harness.

Sweet ride, can't believe you did the HID's b4 the Y-pipe.

Excellent write up on the HID installs...I'm gonna see if I can get my hands on a pair. How much did you pay for yours and where'd you get them from?

Thanks for the info bro.

I aggree with bigdog, not worth the extra $100 or so you would pay for the PIAA or Raybrig. My friend bought a set and they burnt out in a week. Better to go with the Hiper, besides they are only $30 for both, the H4's and H3's.

I'm down areX for a pair of H3 and H4's if you have good prices. Best I've fount are $80 for the H3's and $90 for the H4's. Oh and by the way, I'm not looking for the white Thunder or the Hyper, I'm looking for the Magnum Racing Bulbs.

I would do the Y-Pipe, but I need to find out who has the cheapest one? I am not ready to spend $400 for a Catmann one.

Hey BigDog, just wondering, since you live up here in the Northeast too, how is the salt/sand on your chrome rims? Do you get bad discoloration/blemishes/scratching of the chrome? Would you say that the chrome plating is pretty durable?

I'm thinking bout buying rims...not sure whether to go chrome or not cuz of the salt/sand combo on our roads here in Jersey during winter. Please let me know how your experience has been...I don't want to plunk down $2k for chrome rims only to have severe blemishes a year later.

Thanks man.

I live in Washington DC. The RIMS are brand new and only 2months old so have not hit the snow with them yet. Then again we in DC rarely get snow. But last year when we got hit hard, I had Enkei Rims on my Millenia S and through all the snow/salt, the rims NEVER discolored or peeled or faded. These ETX wheels are made by Enkei, it is a new company of Enkei. I trust Enkei chrome process, I however DO NOT anyone else who had their originals chrome dipped, cause half of them dont know how the process is done nor do they do all the steps. I would go with a BRAND name company, that way under warranty you can get it fixxed, and secondly, chances of it happening is .1%

I got the rims since I was the FIRST car to put on the new ETX rims by Enkei. They gave them to me for $550, as long as I allowed them to my car in pictures. I said "$hit.......... go ahead, advertise my car........."

Yeah I'd want to get Cattmann (sp?) one, but that's a lot of $$$... what about those guys from middle america somewhere... wow I'm having a brain freeze and I can't remember their names. They made a Y-pipe for 4th gen and I guess just finished/perfected one for the 5th gen. And pricing is supposed to be $100 cheaper than Cattman. Why can't I remember who it is????

Nokya H3s suck, colorwise it sucks... still looks a bit yellow. I got the 80 watt H3s from on ebay and the 80/100watt H4s from the same place. Also got an upgraded harness. The h4s are bright and nice... well see how long the bulbs last. The h3s gets the housing hot, plastic lens hot enough to burn me after I shut it off. But overall, everything is brighter. The h4's brightness drowns out the yellowish tint of the h3's. But there are no dark spots anymore.

YES! It's Warpspeed. It was in the gen max forum. I forget the name of the thread though. But I'm pretty sure it was gonna be priced around $300... So for that amount, I may want to go for that one.
