to take the windows up or down by a separate remote ... something that i
can just tap off the the window motor harness ..... i am an EE so i
think i ma capable of some wiring ... i just want to stay away from the

Well, I understand you want to stay away from the factory computer, etc., but here's something to consider.

Prior to the 2k Max, Nissan had this capability in the 4th gen Max. Hold the unlock button down on the remote after unlocking the doors and the windows would roll down. EVERYONE wishes Nissan kept this, but they didn't. You may want to do a little research into how Nissan did this before. Would imagine some kind of module that spliced into the power windows and into the factory remote. I know, I know, I said factory, but it might be something simple (Maybe!?)

Just a thought. Otherwise, I have seen plenty of companies that make a remote control for a car that will trigger a 12V switch, can probably rig it up to the module that controls the driver's side auto-down window.

Good luck, let us know how it goes. I know it's an option I wish I had.

The '02s have this feature...I think the topic came up a few weeks ago about installing the '02 parts in an '00 and '01. I don't remember what came out of that though. Try a search, or maybe someone else has a better memory than me.
