GOSH i tried installing my springs with my cousin today.....it was a pain in the *** and I was unable to do it i advise people install their springs at a shop.....mycousins done alot of springs before and he didnt know how to do my spring install......we also had problems with the spring compressor fitting.... anyways i recommend people not installing their springs on their own.....its even hard to take everything off and put it back together......

where did you get hung up? The front does not seem like it should be too bad... the rear is tougher since the bolt is hard to get to... you need universal joints for that most likely

You couldn't lower it??? All cars with macpherson (sp) struts are the same. Some cars are built crappy and the bolts are tough to get off but you should have been able to do it though. The owrst car that I hve ever done was a 1997 eclipse GST. Man, those things are a POS! I've done Civics, Accords, Integras, Q45, GS400, 240SX, and in two weeks my MAX! Wish me luck. Maybe I'll do a write up.

the stock SE struts are made by Tokico.... however, they are not as durable as the Tokico Blues...

So the Tokico Blues are pretty good and durable? I've heard of one guy on the forums who said his went bad after only 6 months. I've been holding off on getting new shocks\struts and springs because of this. I'm waiting for the KYB AGXs, but if the Tokico blues work fine and last a long time, I'd get those instead. What do you guys think?

well, compared to other aftermarket struts, the Tokicos probably are not that durable. They are better than the stock struts, but not as good as other aftermarket options.... if you want lifetime struts, Konis are the way to go.... I am also going to get the KYB AGX when they are available....

I'd get konis but you have to cut and change them to fit the 5th gens, which is too much work for me. Lifetime struts? Are there such things? Thought most would wear out sooner or later and require replacing.

it's not the front that made him sweat probably..it's the rear..there are many bolts you need to undo before you can access the rear strut tower...if you don't know what you're doing...it could turn into a long-term project..
