Spring Install Details....
Hey guys, yeah yeah, search search search...whatever... ![Big Grin](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Anyways, when one chooses to install springs, how does one go about compressing them? Most of the write ups just say "compress the springs", but no one mentions how or how much.
I'm planning on getting the H&R's and using those with the stock struts.
So how would I go about compressing them? How much do I need to compress them? I imagine it could be kinda dangerous if I used the wrong techinique. Thanks guys.

Hmmm
I would have a professional do this if you are unsure on how to compress the springs. It takes a spring compressor (you can rent them). This is not a job for the inexperienced technician though. It is a pretty dirty job that could take all day if you are unsure of what to do next. You should just pay an experienced technician to do this.

heres a link about a 4gen, I think ours are the same. Good diagram included from shop manual.
you compress springs to just install them, they do not stay compressed. You remove the tool and let the car's weight do rest.
