Gee Whiz Already!!
I took my max in to get the solenoids replaced, they said it was driving better, but it was still slipping so they ordered a new TCM for me so now I have to take it in again.
Are there any other problems that a tranny can have other than the solenoids and TCM? They checked the pan and there weren't any metal shavings present.
At what point do you think they will replace the whole thing? Why don't they just give me a new 2002 and we'll call it even?

Go to http://www.howstuffworks.com to read up on tranny parts and how they all tie together.

Re: may be too late...
yeah, they looked for metal the first time I sent it in but didn't find any...
Anyway I get get them to change the gear ratios while they are working on it, a tighter set, more sporty? That would kill the tranny though right?

may be time to look for burnt tranny fluid.. or metal in the pan.. Ask them if they looked for excessive metal, as per the TSB
