Need help removing Stock BOSE radio.
Need help removing Stock BOSE radio.
I need some help removing the Stock radio in my girlfriends 2000 Max. It has the BOSE stereo in it. I don't even know where to begin. I do not want to leave any marks on any of the panels that I have to remove. I need access to the stereo wires so I can hook up her Val-1 Radar dector.
Thanks for any help

Alright well you need to pull off the AC vents right above the radio. Just put you fingers in there and pull hard and the whole vent should come out. Then there is two screws to remove the radio with. Then it is out.

You have to grab the vent and pull up and out. Once it pops loose you yank it strait out hard.. There are 2 screws behind it. Remove those.
Then remove the shifter surround by pulling out the coin tray. Take out that screw behind it and pop the surround up with a screwdriver.. There are 2 screws behind this so remove those too.. now the whole assembly is free so disconnect all the harness' and pull it out.. Now getting the bose free from the brackets is a BIATCH. There are 4 screws on each side and they will NOT move.. If you cant get them out you have to drill them or what i did was cut a huge deep slot in each one and used a big flat head to get em out
good luck
