CV Axle

I need to get new axles pretty soon and I want to know if any of you know which ones are good. I have been looking around and saw the EMPI axles for around $200 for both of them. What do you guys think I should get?

If you want the best, Raxles ($150/each). If you want auto parts store replacements, out of Advance Auto, AutoZone, NAPA, and O'Reilly, Advance Auto has the cheapest at $69.99/each with lifetime warranty...

Does anyone have the EMPI axles? they look pretty good they are new, not rebuilt like some other ones and there is free shipping on www.car-stuff.com
And also does anything else need to be replaced when replacing the axles?

raxles....nothing else comes close to the quality.

kencapel, good luck to you....but you're on a short vacation now for profanity. You should know better, and "the filter doesn't work" is not an excuse.

Ken also, when you pull the old axle out, it could have disjointed and would therefore be longer off the car than it would be installed. Have you actually tried to install the short ones on the car? If so, does your mechanic know what the hell he's doing? I can't imagine why you would keep getting "short" ones. Just call Marty at raxles again and he'll make sure you get the right axle.

Sorry you'll have to answer that in 3 days from now.

Advance Auto does carry AT CV axles... I'm rocking a pair on my GLE. They're also the cheapest of the auto parts stores ($79.99), and IIRC, the only CV axles available at auto stores that are new and not rebuilt. Lifetime warranty, too, (and they pay for labor if the part fails under warranty) FTMFW!!!!

I can answer in his absense. They were in fact the wrong axles and he finally got the right one from some place in Colorado I think. His car is all back together and running fine.

LOL...I am having the same problem as KenCapel...I just ordered one from Auto Zone for the passenger side and it was the right axle but it was too short...I also did try test fitting it and it would not work...also I went to O'Reilly's and they said that my part didn't even register in their system so...

Raxles = new parts and perfect fitment, not to mention they're works of art...... And I still owe marty a core

yes you are correct my friend. im right with u. but like i said b4 i was put in time out when i called them up, this one guy (not marty) was rude with me and never called me back about it. but the week before i called marty up and he was cool about giving the last one to me cuz he was holding the last one for someone in case they backed out. so eh, rax will come later. BUT if all else fails, (if theres no raxles available like when i called) then used is the best investment if you need one right off. mine was $75

Raxles have had good reviews. Although I have never bought from them, all I have heard is good words of their service and parts.

Well, sure enough my EMPI axle came in today and was 1 inch too short So I guess I'll just have to go with some Raxles...
