This is not a hard a decision. First off these cars are EXACTLY THE SAME NEWBIES. Two GLE's, they have ALL OPTIONS, sunroof, the whole shabang except spoiler and manual transmission...sheesh.

Secondly, its a matter of your preference for interior. Its gray versus black. I would prefer black but that CEL light can be dangerous and make the biggest difference. if its not a huge issue and the physical damage is not bad, i would rather get the 02 for 2 main reasons, interior color preference, and better cost.

Good luck

I went to the dealership yesterday, but they said I had to get driver licence and car insurance then they will sell the 02 Maxima to me....sign...
I deposited $500 to the dealer and they're gonna keep the car until Friday...crazy...
So, I went to the DMV this afternoon and had my written test done. I will do my driving test tomorrow afternoon....wish me luck...
BTW, I'm Chinese and I living in Omaha, Nebraska. I drove when I was in China, so I think it'll be easy..lol

I thought all that was optional on both years. My 02 SE 6 speed has all that. Side impact airbags, compass mirror, heated seats and steering wheel (very nice features for cold weather). I would personally go for the one with black interior.

The only thing that is different between the 2002 gle and the 2003 gle is that the side curtain airbags came standard

Also 2002 and 2003 the only thing that came standard on those years gle model was leather seats, the suspension of course, and on the 03 gle it came standard with the side curtain airbgas standard. Even though i belive nissan gave a couple of the 02 gle spoilers from the factory. But No heated seat steering will was an option as well as moonroof!

I think the 02 looks to be in better condition..the higher price may be justified..ideally I'd get an 03 over the 02 because of minor upgrades, such as side airbags, TE package (but I don't think the TE is available on the GLE).

I've never seen a GLE without a sunroof though. the 02 has one owner, a little higher mileage but no accidents, no SES light..but I don't like the grey steering wheel either..in the end they both have pros and cons..I'd get the 03 thoroughly inspected and probably negotiate that down another grand for the SES/accident and then pocket the extra cash for any future problems..IIRC the 03 had some minor bugs out of it that the 02 suffered from (MAF). In the end the 03 is newer, less miles, black interior and 3k cheaper..I'd probably go for that provided the SES is cleared.

BTW MaxBoost925, I'm really loving your sig pic-who is that?

All options . Apparently you have not seen the picture on the first page re: lack of sunroof on a GLE, and then there's Navigation Stick with the 95-01 scene, since, you do not know much with respect to the 02-03 years.

Non 's aren't afraid of SES lights, they deal with them because they know how.
