Power Leather Seat Upgrade

I'm installing power leather seats from an '02 GLE into my '03 SE. My original cloth driver's seat was power but had no memory. The leather driver's seat has memory. Has anyone done this already? If so then how did you wire the leather driver's seat? The electrical connectors don't match. The leather seat's electrical connector is much larger and there are many more wires. The leather passenger seat is power too and my old cloth seat wasn't. Has anybody wired one of these? Any help is appreciated.

its alot more work than you might want to do, most likely have to change the harnes in the car. I suggest you go to phatg20.net, get yourself factory manual, trace the wires and see what you can do. do you have the computer nder the driver seat? how about the buttons on the door panel? sorry can't be more of a help since i haven't done this myself.

You'll need to replace the body computer and a couple harness sections. Not worth the effort..

If you didn't already do it, it probably would be easier and more cost efficient to have your own custom leather installed. Several members have done it with personalized stitching and two toned, looks amazing. I would definitely look into it if its not too late.

I'm looking at doing the same thing. Are you guys saying that you've tried it before and it was more trouble than it was worth - or are you giving opinions? Opinions are fine, but please clarify your experience. Thanks for your help.

I already bought and installed the seats. I'll work on the wiring next weekend.

Does anybody know whether the basic wiring harness for a GLE w/ leather is the same as an SE w/o leather.

I'm thinking about running power to the seat for the controls and not even bothering with the memory. I have the panel with the memory buttons and I have the computer under the seat. But I don't have the wiring and so memory seems to be more trouble than it's worth.
