I have an 03 all stock GLE with 75k miles and the car sounds like its Rubbing on Stock Suspension / Rims. I mean it SOUNDS like it but it really isnt. Its like a grinding sound and thats all i can compare it to.

The mechanic says it may be an internal shock problem or somethin. Anyone else experience this or heard anything like that?

 

I am assuming you hear the sound when compressing the strut/spring by pressing down on the car? Is the car really bouncy? I would guess its a blown strut? Check for a greasy strut which would indicate which one is bad.

 

I hear the sound when turning only. I jacked it up and checked for rubbing of any kind but there is nothing. Ill check the strut next but its hard to see behind cover.

Any other advise or has anyone had this problem before?

 

i hear it as well from the front passanger side...sounds like the it might be the dust cover on hte strut....of it might be the axel...mine sounds like plastic though...

 

Yea it sounds like plastic... but I dont see anything rubbing when I visually inspect the car.
