best/smooth struts for 01

My dad wants to change the stock struts on his 01 maxima..his car will have 18's soon and it will be kept on stock springs..

im thinking of getting kyb gr2's...but are there any other struts that will ride smoother? He wants to get the smoothest ride possible..

also will 245/45/18 wheels rub on an 01?

Thanks!!

I would say Tokico Illuminas or Blues...GR-2's would be a stiffer strut IMO.

Yes, GR-2s would be stiffer.

If you want smooth and cheap, go with Tokico HP (a.k.a. "Blue") or OEM.

If you want the best ride possible, get Koni Yellows.

GR2? Smoother? Every other strut aside from AGX is smoother.

If he doesn't think his ride is smooth enough now... wait till he gets his 18's on, it'll be worse. I think the Koni yellows

Zactly my thoughts: if he wants comfort he should be buying better tires with a nice sidewall section... and not 18" rims...

Smoothiest ride possible is your stock combination. What's the deal changing the struts without changing springs?

I have Ksport coilovers with 19" wheels and a 35 profile tire.

I don't mind.

Stock is smooth, there's nothing softer.
