Recommended Clutch and Flywheel

Ok time for a new tranny on my 02. Warranty will cover the tranny and I figured do the clutch and flywheel while it's out. What's the recommended clutch brand and what are my options on flywheel.s. I'm thinking a little lighter not a featherweight. Also when recommending if you can tell me if it's steel or aluminum and correct me if I'm wrong but what I remember is a 15lb steel will act lighter than a 15lb aluminum because most of the weight on the steel is closer to center and the aluminum is spread out pretty even. And for people who have experienced these did you consider them easily streetable. I've had 8lb flywheels on 4 cylinder toyotas and hondas in the past and one wasn't even noticable another was down right annoying. Thanks.

go to group deals section.. there is a guy selling
a lot of people go with spec clutch and fidanza aluminum flywheel @ 12lbs
others go with exedy clutch and same flywheel
both with great results

The same thing that happens to all the 6speed tranny's apparently synchros. I bought the car with 62K city miles so I know it was only a matter of time. Redline MT90 and summer weather allowed me to get this far now that fall is kicking in those cooler mornings are hell untill it warms up. To be honest I skip 3rd gear and 5th gear 90% of the time.

Ive seen countless 6mts with over 100k miles that are still on the original trannies and engines. Be good to it and you wont have a problem..thats all I can say

Best clutch/flywheel setup is Fidanza 15 pound flywheel with a stock clutch from a new 350Z (2005 +). The flywheel is perfectly driveable with a noticeable performance gain. The 350Z clutch feels better than the Maxima clutch when driving and is as strong as most stage1 clutches. The clutch is about $250 from Dave B. and he knows all about it. It's a direct bolt in with no modification at all.

I was at the grag strip Friday with this setup. I was barking the tires when shifting. That's with sticky drag tires on the car.

I only see the 13.5 lb Fidanza flywheels I'd rather have a 15 if there really is one. What was stock again like 30+ or so. I'd like to find one around 15-18 if there is one or even a stock 350Z I beleive somebody said they were like 22 but I didn't hear of any good way of doing the starter. Don't really want to go buy both starters and make one either. Any other good flywheels than fidanza?

The 13.5 should be fine. With the weight of the flywheel and clutch together the 1.5 pound difference isn't much.

The 350Z flywheel is different and needs more modification than the starter to work.

I have the ACT HDG6 (SS disk was back-ordered) kit in my 4th gen... It chatters a little in the parking lot... and makes it real easy to blow the car up - but its quite streetable for me - I am scared to let the wife drive it though.

I got my Flywheel from Ultrarev and that crazy Texan Dave B got my 350Z clutch (and other parts I needed) on order. He's great to deal with.

The prices kinda went up, so with the TO bearing it was around 310 or so. The clutch itself is around 280 or something like that. Still cheaper than a lot of the aftermarkets.

Ultrarev had the cheapest on the Fidanza 13.5 pound Aluminum for the Maxima (the only one they offer), was a little over 450. A lot of other places were close to 600. I received that already.
http://www.fidanza.com/ItemDetails.a...id=279&mkid=13 is the info for it.. Search Ultrarev by vehicle and it's the only one they have. If anyone else has a better price, throw it on out there..

Once my order from Dave B gets here, it'll go in for install. Some of the plastics and stuff I needed had to be ordered.

No tranny problems, I have 93K on my 2002 SE 6MT Meridian.
