Lights for 2001 Maxima., please respond...

Hi guys, I'm thinking about replacing the Headlights (bulbs)on my Max however I would like to know from people who've done it what they think, model #, price, how long they last and if you had to replace the light wiring/relay/harness because of the power of the new bulbs.
Thanks and I lokk forward to hearing back from you.

I replaced my heads and fogs with PIAA ExtremeWhites, cost me about $50 per pair which I'm now thinking was a little expensive (at autobulbdepot.com) Well worth it though!! They look awesome, help a little bit at night (better than stock fogs anyway!) and don't annoy the heck out of everybody like the rainbow bulbs do. Don't overdo your wattage though! get the 50/65W H4s and 55w H3s.

if you have the money it would well be worth the money to get a pair of 2K2 HIDs!!! probly be about $800-$1000 though for the pair

Thanks to all who replied and will reply later. I thought of PIAA however I wanted to know what else is out there.
Any idea how long these replacement lights would last?
Thanks again.

How come the price ballooned from 400 a pair to 800-1k. I haven't done any mods yet but I saw a 2k1 with 2k2 HIDS and can't stop drooling. Is everyone still having all the issues with the relays and alarm?

Who are people buying them from now? I thought DaveB was hooking people up for around 450 a pair.

They went up in price because Nissan realized they were selling them WAAY under-priced.
BigDogJonX has write-ups that fix the alarm and low-beam problems.
DaveB doesn't have any more for the low price. Check DrOmed, he had some for sale for ~$750.

Lights and Mods

I just can't justify to myself spending 1k on lights right now.

I think what's ****ed me off more than anything is nowadays everything is being upgraded every 6 months. Welcome to the world of technology and people raping consumers.

I got an I35 poster in the newspaper this weekend and all I can say is *drool*. I bought the top of the line Max last March and I would have bought the top of the line Max this year if I hadn't already bought my car. Pretty lame how they offer Nav, HID's etc on the new ones but couldn't offer that stuff last year.

I don't want to spend the next year upgrading my max like a PC. I think PC's have a longer shelflife than the Max's lately.

You brought up a good point however there is nothing we can do, it's the world of Marketing. Look at me, I got a 2001 Max SE AE end of February and in August Nissan Canada releases the 2002 with new engine and all the upgrades at about the same price...BS!!!
But to make a long story short I am happy with my Max, it's a nice car to drive, smooth and fast.
Take care.

PIAA H4 Xtreme Whites. Expect a little less life than stock bulbs (5-10%) they run about $70 and do a MUCH MUCH better job than the stock bulbs, and they look like HIDs .... no wiring harness required

Haven't decided yet however my choice is pointing to PIAAs either the Xtreme Whites or the Super Plasmas. I would probably go 50/65W so I don't have to worry about wiring or relays burnout.
I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for your reply. The Xtreme Whites seem to be everybody's choice. What about the wattage, what are yours?
