Color Matching High Beams and Fog Lights to HIDs

I've got an I35 with the stock HIDs. I'd like to pick up some halogens for the Fogs and High Beams/Driving Lights (Canadian Car) that are closer in color to the HID.

Anyone have any advice? I've searched but many of bulbs suggest aren't made anymore

Thanks?

I intend to go the route of HID fogs to match my 04 Maxima projectors. But I'll use 3000K and not 4300K for inclement weather.

you have any pics (light on the ground, and facing the car), i would like to see what that would look like on an 04.

Thats a little tough...I've got 9005 bulbs for the High beam/Driving Lights...both need to work for me to pass safety, I don't think the HIDs would function as driving lights at a lower output like the 9005s do.

Oh, but they do!!! I have some H4 (hi and low beam) HIDs on my motorcyle. the hi/low beam function by the bulb itself sliding back and forth changing the angle of the light when the Hi beam switch is turned on and off.

Just for your info... Hi/Lo beams are not a function of "INTENSITY" of power placed thru a bulb to make them brighter. Its a matter of Light ANGLE, to reflect them lower (low beam) or higher (hi beam). power remains constant.

the 02-03 uses separate high beams so putting hid in there isn't such a good idea since turning the hid on and off too fast will shorten its life. for 00-01 should be ok i guess since they use 1 bulb.

for separate beams (1 bulb for hi, and 1 bulb for lo) like 02-03, I would NOT put HIDs in the Hi beam. IMO it would be pointless for many reasons 1. the "flash to pass" flashing of Hi beams wouldn't work, HID would take to long to warm up so flashing is impossible, 2. nobody uses hi beams for that long of a period of time for them to need HIDs, and 3. it would be a waste of money.

but for single H4 bulbs like 00-01, i would do the telesoping HID bulb. still have hi/low function with no warming up, (still can do "flash to pass")

Check the group deals section. Operatic is running a smokin' deal...HID kits for $130 shipped.
I just installed mine last nite -- and WHOA! --sooo much better.
I think PIAA's are overpriced crapola -- and for the price of two sets, you can have HID's.
Check my post this morning for the size: H3c for 5.5 gen.
Do it....
gr

**They only had H3c's in 6k & 8k colors.....but you MIGHT be able to special order 3k for the yellow look.

Not the greatest shots I've got at the moment. the 04+ Max HID's are nice because of the funky purple/blue cutoff they have! Very easy to tell them apart from others on the roads, especially if they're behind you.

Halogen fogs and 4300K HID's:

Cut-off at < 25' with fogs on (hence the nasty color in the middle towards the bottom):

Daytime shots of the HID's on:
