VQ35 injector size.

Could someone please tell me what the injector size is on the 2002 VQ? Is it any different from the 350Z injectors?

~Thanks

The FWD VQ35DE injectors are different from the RWD injectors, but the DE-K injectors are the same as the G/Zs at the same fuel pressure.

From SR20DEN a while back....

VQ30DE: 259cc
VQ30DE-K: 290cc @ 3.0 BAR (FBJC100)
VQ35DE: 315cc @ 3.5 BAR (FBJC101, FWD versions)
VQ35DE: 335cc @ 3.5 BAR (FBJC100, 350z etc.)

In other words, if you up the fuel pressure to 3.5 BAR, the DE-K injectors can also be 335cc.

Also, if you're going to use any FBJC100 injectors on a FWD VQ35DE, you can reuse the FWD fuel rail. All you have to do is probably get new o-rings.

cool, thanks. So On my 2002 FWD VQ35, I'll be running 315cc @ 51PSI

I think my standalone was programmed for the 335cc injectors b/c it technically has a 350Z tune.

I don't think it matters if you have a wideband/standalone.

I agree. You can run the 335cc with no issues, esp. since you have a standalone, like Nmexmax said, since the standalone will have its own timing maps (and you can probably change them). And it sounds like those maps will be for the 335cc anyway. If I understand what you're saying correctly.

I think the only issue that may arise if you have 335cc injectors with a say stock A33B maps and no AFR adjustment, is that you will be running a bit rich and lose a little bit of MPG and power.

well, I'm going with the 315cc because that's what's on the engine.

I know it doesn't really matter because basically, I can just set my standalone until I'm happy with the A/F. I was just wondering if the FWD and RWD cars (2002) had different injectors, because my base map is based on the 350Z.

the map is based on an N/A 350Z. But I'm sure it's been tuned to run rich until you tune it.

How rich, exactly? Lol, I burned through almost 5gal of fuel with about 45 minutes of idling and 5 miles of driving. Anyhow, I'll be towing it to the tuner.

lol. So is this the final stage of the swap? Sounds like everything is up and running fine, just awaiting the final tune. And getting a steering wheel.

Well, I got the stock steering wheel on there now. I have it hand tightened just so I can move it around the lot, but I keep taking it on/off in order to easily get parts in and out, or wire.

Anyway, the car starts, it idles, it goes up to about 2,000RPMs before it starts to break up. The car is running extremely rich. I leaned it out as much as possible, but it's burning through fuel like crazy. Just idling, the 1/2 tank I gave it is almost gone. I'm taking it in during the next few weeks, Exhaust and a good tune. Should be ready for the road and track.
