Difference Between 5 and 5.5 Gen Muffler?

I will be replacing the stock muffler on my 3rd gen pretty soon and am pretty sure I want a 5th gen muffler. Someone mentioned that the 5 and 5.5 gen mufflers are different to me awhile back.

So my question is: are there any differences between the two mufflers?
And also, do the mufflers vary between trim levels (single tip vs. twin tip, quieter vs. louder)?

afaik, all 5th gen's have the same muffler, except one has an oval chrome tip over both exhaust holes, and one has one circle chrome tip over each exhaust hole.

and, i don't believe any stock 5th gen has a single tipped exhaust.
