Purchased a 2003. Have a few questions.

I don't like starting threads with such titles, but I have a few different pics and would like to know what these parts are. I purchased a 2003 Titanium Edition, 6 SPD with HLSD. She has 48xxx miles. Since I have not seen any others in person, there are a few things that I have questions about.
1. To the left of the air box is a hook shaped hose. It is not connected to anything. I looked at the bottom of the box and did not see anything to which it can connect. What is this hose?

2.To the left of the clutch line, is a square area. Each corner of this part has threads where bolts could possible be screwed. I can't explain it any better. Is that normal?

3.To the left of the intake. Is there supposed to be a sensor there?

These are it for now.
Thanks in advance for you assistance.

Thanks.
The part in pic # 2 is located left to the breather hose. If I look straight down at the breather hose and then look to the left. It's way down there and I can't get a good shot.

Thanks

the block in the 5.5 is the same as some previous generations, so something probably fits in the mystery hole on the previous generation block

Sent you a PM.
I have been away for quite some time. I am sure the veterans remember me. I will post pics, once I drop her. I won't post a pic of her looking like a 4x4.

Thanks everyone for your help.
I love the 6 speed. I had been looking for the titanium edition for months. Drove a total of 11 hours to get this. Well worth the wait and driving...

1. Breather hose
2. Nothing
3. Nothing

These are spots that are universal holes for different applications of the motor.

Paid 13K. Private owner...I had been looking for months for a TE. I wanted the HLSD. Drove to Wisconsin in a rental and drove her back. I took out the extended warranty through my credit union. In case any oil burning or tranny grinding issues happen.

I have a similar hose (I don't know if it is the exact same one) on my 5 spd 01 (without the HLSD).

Hey, thanks for posting your question. I just purchased a 2002 Maxima 6 speed last weekend. The guy before me did some mods and I was under the hood today trying to see what all he did and if anything needs to be undone. I saw that hose too and I was concerned he pulled something out. So thanks for posting it.

If anyone can post a picture of the stock intake I would appreciate it. I have a big plug about 1" diameter filling a hole about halfway back from the front of the intake. It looks like a big cast plumbing plug so I'm sure its not factory. I need to know if there is supposed to be a sensor or something in there.

Also does the intake pull in air from the downward facing pipe? Mine has a big cap on it? The guy said he capped it because he bored out a new hole in the front of the air box for cold air. But I don't know why he would want to restrict air flow. I think the guy messed with a lot of things he didn't know what he was doing. I hope I don't regrett buying a car that had some mods done.

Thanks for the help. Sorry for Hijacking your thread. Forum rules are I can't start a thread until I've made 15 post. Seems like a silly rule. I'm a newbie. How am I supposed to be able to offer advise to others to get 15 post.

I swaped out the bose today with and added a 12" type R. It sounds nice now. I am surprised that the deck rattle is not half as bad as my 2K. And the bose speakers sound nice also.
I am not able to use the dimming function. I posted about it in the audio forum.

comments like, "whoa...sweet ride man!", "I like what you did there", "where can i get that?", etc. are the most the appropriate.

after you hit 15, come back and post a pic of it. hopefully you have a photobucket/cardomain acct to host the pic.

I hate posting when I can't actually help someone or receive help myself. But I'm sure I'll see a couple of cars over there I like well enough to post a comment on. Might take a little time until I can get back too it though.
