funny race

i pull up to the next to this blue celica gts planing to turn right when the female driver gives me the don't even think about it look

,she starts rocking back and forth waiting for the light.light changes and we gun it ,1st gear her bumper is at my door,2nd it's over i walk away hard.at the next light she won't look over and makes a left turn, i stop at another light 5 blocks down and i see her again coming from the next street over and crossing the street she just raced me on,i guess she was a little embarresed after getting smoked and did'nt want want to pull up next to me again

,also raced a vr6 passat

Thats true! I dont think Ive EVER raced a chick..Ive had alot of red lights next to chicks in some pretty fast cars and no race...

well.... I pulled up to this nice SLK.. look over... a hot asian chic... so we raced a bit.... I got totally KILLED.... then I saw the back of the SLK..... AMG32.....

Monte Carlo SS

I raced this one older lady in a newer Monte Carlo SS. She had no chance, by 6000 RPMS in 1st gear it was over. The Next light I played with her until top of 2nd and killed her again, she looked really ****ed after the second loss.

i once got into this 3 way race with a totally hooked up civic and some chick in a 92ish taurus, and i was in a saab 93. well, she beat the 2 of us, only because we were on a main road with lotsa traffic and she obviously wasnt afraid to die. from my experience, girls really dont know how to drive or race, but this girl had it. thats such a turn on man

I whooped on one with my current 3rd Gen. A 5th Gen should have been a cakewalk.

New Celica GT-S's are rated 180HP, and they are feather light. I hardly believe she gave up that easily. How many HP your car has w/all the mods? Not long ago I raced a dude in GT (140hp?) and it pulled strong. My car is stock 5spd GXE...

My guess would be around 245-250hp.
If you are having problems with the 4-banger Celica there might be something wrong with your car? No joke!

I'm always surprised that how people underestimate the celica. I know for a fact that when I race my friend's AE 5spd Max I pull in 3rd gear. I only have I/E....

You guys do know that there are several Celica which run an average of 14.5s?

Just recently a guy ran a 14.2 with I/E and LSD....

I never said my car is faster than a 2k max
I think it's a driver's race with the better driver winning.

I would like to point out that the celica is *hard* to drive well. It's hard to launch and hard to keep on the 2nd cam when shifting to 2nd gear, thus, there will be better max drivers than celica drivers.
Then again you will encounter a good celica driver sometimes too

i just raced my friends 5 speed gts, and he launched with me and kept up till about 70, 75 when i just took off, but it is a really quick car.

Not till after 70. He was barely ahead till 50 or so when I'd pulled even, then at higher speeds I passed him up. Remember, driver plays a big role when you have a manual car that doesn't have much torque.

the reason why it sounds strange is cuz at 75 mph the celica gt-s will be at ~7800 rpms which is still in it's max horsepower and max torque. This is also at it's indicated redline, but you don't need to shift till 8300 rpms where it is STILL making peak hp and torque (this is at 80 mph or so). Perhaps the driver shifted at 7800 rpms (the indicated redline) and that's when you pulled on him? cuz that'd be right at 75 mph
