totaled 2001 max for $500 good deal?
the front of the maxiam is F*#@ed but the engine is good and so is the rest of the car. he ad 3rd party insurance so he's not gonna get any money back so its eaiter $100 from the junkyard or sell it and when i asked he said $500, think if i buy it will i be able to make the money i invested or a little more?

hell yeah. i would scoop that car up really quick and start parting it out day. im sure your will make more money that way. im sure you can make anywhere from 1-4k just by parting it out.

Find out what the junkyard charges to tow it from where you strip it. Also, it would be smarter to remove the parts and store them if you have the space than to pull them as ppl want parts.
That way if you break something when taking it off you won't have to tell a potential buyer, "Sorry I broke that part during removal." But yes definitely buy it, you can make your money back on leather seats and wheels alone.

I wish it was that easy. Don't expect much man unless you gonna be asking top dollar for your parts.
$500 is a steal.

If my 626 had well over $1000 salvage value (according to the insurance company) despite a really hard back end hit and either bent frame or axle, a totalled 5th gen Max ought to be worth double that. $500 is a great deal.

if you do decide to buy it and sell the parts, do us all a favor and dont ask retail prices for everything. if you think you are going to make a fortune and move to florida for retirement by parting out one 2001 maxima, than dont bother doing it. price the parts aggresively so you can sell them fast and make some money. otherwise you will be sitting on parts in your basement for a while.

Charges? Are you serious? I call a local tow company, pay them $45 to drive it onto the scales at a scrapyard, than collect around $250, you're silly if your letting people charge YOU to take the car away.
