Has anyone ever cleaned inside headlight lens??

Noticed that it seems a little dirty on the inside as the light is shining through the lens in the evenings, was wondering if anyone has actually removed the headlight unit and somehow cleaned the lens from the inside?! thanks.

I don't think it is recommended to disassemble the lens. Some on the board have tried to clean by washing and drying through the bulb hole, but have had limited results.

MaximaDriver.com has a how-2 section on making the '99 headlight look like the 20th AE. I don't know if these instructions will work on ours, or help us clean our lenses.
The main problem is resealing the lense to prevent condensation.
I was wondering the same thing. The headlights do look dirty, and I wanted to make mt headlights look like the AE, as well.

D*mm, I a poet and didn't even know it!!

Careful not to scratch the inside of your lens...My guess is you would not be a very happy camper at that point. Good luck and let us know the results!

I think...

you'll find a residue on the outside of the lens. It will not come off with soap and water.. Safe-Cut will get... There was alittle yellow haze that I didnt even know was there. Worked WONDERS.. then I promptly replaced them with HIDs

Sorry to bring this up again but I have the same thing going on inside the lense. At night it's not clear. It looks like there's some buildup that may be on the inside of the lense. Any products out there that to use to clean the outside of the lens to see if I can get the residue off. Soap and water doesn't work... (like it says in one of the other posts in this thread).... And what is safe cut... and where can I get some. (oh yeah in replacing ont of the 1157s up front I damaged the socket..... I think I have to buy another one now......... dammit).
