300ZX OEM Wheels

Hey Guys,

I've got a question. Will Stock 300ZX(Z32) wheels work for winter rims on a 2k2 SE?

As far as I can tell, they are 16"x7.5 with an offset of +45, which leads me to believe they'd be fine. Maybe a little wider than I'd like for the winter, but ok none the less.

TIA

There are 2 different sets of 300zx wheels. The ones that come on the twin turbos are 8.5 in the rear and 7.5 in the front, The na's(non-turbos) are 7.5 all around.

As far as you're question goes, I have no idea if they fit. I think the would look kinda weird on a maxima anyways.

Thanks, and I should have specified that these are off an N/A'd 300ZX.

Agreed that they aren't the sexiest rim, but for the winter I don't mind.

Thanks for the replies guys.

maybe he lives where there is snow, in which case a wide tire is NOT the best

as long as you keep get a size that in the end gives you the same (or very close) Rotations per Mile (or Rotations per Kilometre), you want as narrow and as tall a tire as possible without having problems with clearance etc.

Look at rally cars. When the cars are on tarmac they have low profile, very wide tarmac tires. When they hit the snow/ice, they go for a very tall sidewall, very very very narrow tire so that it digs through the snow and gets to the part of the road where it can find grip. If you have a wide tire its a lot harder to get grip.

On my 2002 SE I went from the stock 225/50/17 to 215/55/16...I can't go any smaller due to brakes.

On my 1993 Mazda 626 ES V6 I went from 205/55/15 to 185/70/14

huge difference in look, driving characteristics, and believe me the car was a monster in the snow and ice. My friend till this day uses it as a daily driver in Quebec and hasn't gotten stuck once...He couldn't believe when he went skiing to Mt. St. Anne in a snowstorm that SUV's were getting stuck and off in the ditch when he just kept driving...(SUV's must not of had snows, or the drivers felt a little too cocky, which is usually the case with SUV drivers)...

Dear zgendron,

Thank you for visiting Maxima.org! Your stay here will be longer, more productive and infinitely more enjoyable for all involved if you direct your questions to the appropriate part of The Org!

While your question is, indeed, vaguely related to 5th Gen Maximas, it more specifically relates to WHEELS AND TIRES. You are likely to get better, more specific help there.

Oh, and have I mentioned, search first, post second!

Thank you! Come again!

Check the classified sections of www.twinturbo.net and www.300zxclub.com for used sets. You can find them for 300-400 with tires.

They also come in chrome.
