FORGET the aluminum dash kit, its the most unnatural looking thing one can put on their dash!! On the other hand, I got the carbon fiber dash kit, from bage co.com (I found out that they actually buy it from woodview in ontario canada but who cares cause they are like 50$ cheaper!) and I love it. If anyone has a black interior, carbon is the way to go. IMHO, any one else have any ideas? My set, with shipping was 220$, an expensive mod but its a Molded dash kit; thats the key. Forget the cheap flat ****, thats ghetto style (no offense to anyone who lives in the ghetto!)

I agree. Just pull the pieces and paint them yourself, if you really feel the need to go ghetto.

(No offense to people driving Maximas in the ghetto either).

I apologize if I seemed a little irritable with my last post.....
it was really just a case of displaced anger and frustration.
The truth is.....I didn't have my daily dose of tetra hydra cannibus
that day and I was taking it out on my fellow maxima.org members.

I'm sure some of you understand.

c'mon people this is unreasonable, $200 for some dash kit, you must be out of your minds. Way overpriced. $50 is a good price. Wonder if there are any do-it-yourselfters?

When I first heard about it at CustomMaxima.com, I was excited cuz I was looking for a kit that would match the look around the transmission shift console. After I got a look at what the kit looked like, (flat, non-contoured) I changed my mind with a quickness! (IMO)

I'm still looking for a better looking kit...or maybe carbon fiber...

No offense to anyone with this kit...

Here is a pic.

http://www.ap-signworks.com/newpics/...als%20Mats.jpg

The raised dash on the 5th gens is a problem for real metal kits. I do have a question though. Is anyone here interested in a molded kit made from real aluminum? Not that cheap plastic **** that everyone else has. It would fit every contour. But here's the big thing, for this to be made, we would have to sell them for $450. Yes, 2.5 times what the regular flat aluminum kit sells for. If anyone is serious, let me know. However, please don't email me saying that the price is too high. If you want it, you want it. If you don't, don't waste my time. Nobody else will make this, I've already talked to all the big dash kit manufacturers and no one wants to work with real aluminum.

Is that a real aluminum kit in the pic? I wish I could see a better pic of the center dash.

Ethan, yes it is the real aluminum kit. Here is a better pic of the console.

http://www.ap-signworks.com/newpics/...ver%20side.jpg

And no, the shifter piece isn't off by that much. The piece is made for an auto, and we didn't have any manual pieces available for the photo shoot. We do have them though. As you can see, the fit is very good, but the raised dash makes it look a little weird. But this kit covers the exact same parts as all the other flat kits do whether it be JT, Alkaplus, etc. I can see why everyone wants the molded kit though.

yes, the shifter piece is for an automatic but will be changed when the right one comes in so pics will be available then. i am also trying to get the manufacturer to modify the center dash pieces so they can be bent on the sides for a better fit. as you can see, the center pieces are flat but if they were a little wider, it can be easily formed to fit the contour. hopefully, it will all work out.

Any pics of the carbon fiber molded pieces. I would be interested if not those flat sticker type ones. what's that website for the molded carbon kit.

i own the kit from custommaxima.com and it sucks. its quite hard to put on without getting any small bends in it, and even if you can do that its ugly. the 3-D molded one is much better and worth the money.

also i bent a couple of my pieces of the custom maxima one and i emailed AP Signworks for prices on replacing just those pieces and they never even emailed me back. i want to go to the 3-D molded one but i already spent $200 on my dash and i dont really want to spend any more...

I am AP-Signworks. I'm pretty sure I did return your email, this was a few weeks back right? I've said it before, and I'll say it again. On a 5th gen, the molded kit does look better. When we made the 5th gen kit, we didn't know that the dash was raised. We just got a template from our supplier and went from there. However, we are working on a contoured (not molded) kit that will cover everything. But our flat kit is no different from the one Joshua Tree sells or Alkaplus.

Damn, that looks good. I like the Aluminum, then the carbon. Wood is the ugliest out of all the trims. No offense to anyone that has the wood. The aluminum gives it more of a sporty look......mmmmmm.......
