My friend just got an 02 and Im checking if wheel locks were standard on all models or an extra option?
Also, anyone know the answer but for 6th gens?

 

I think its a dealer option. Some put them on and some dont. The car fax for my car says they were installed at the dealer right after delivery from the factory. I would say this would pertain to all gens. but thats just MHO.

 

I bought my Max off lease and according to the AllData report, the locks were dealer installed at delivery. I removed them as soon as I got the car home. Luckily here where I currently live I really don't need them.

 

My 03 didn't come with any.

Neither did my '02.

 

dealer option included usually in PDI $.
They usually put them on so nobody won't steal the rims while new on their premises, not that they actually care about customer's rims getting stoalen after purchase.
One time they stole 3 new sets of rims tires one night while in the lot. So insurance claim up, premium up and locks started rolling.
