Cold weather and dying out

Has anyone had a problem with your car dying out in the cold weather? Last year, when it went below 32 and my car was outside for a few hours, I would just start my 2k Max, warm it for about 30 sec, and go. At the first stop I came to, I would start to idle and when the tach dropped to under a thousand, it would just die out. Always had to wait a minute before I could start the car up again. I brought it in to the dealer a few times and they couldn't replicate the problem and had no solution .

I tried warming it up for a few minutes as well and it helped a bit, but also had problems letting it idle in park. It would drop down below a thousand and would just shut off. Electrical was still working. I just had to keep applying the gas to keep it goin. Even with the pressure on the gas, at times it still wanted to die out. I tried a fuel tank cleaner and injection cleaner already.

Anyone else have this problem or know what may be wrong? Help! I'm near the Chicago area and it just started to get cold again and it is starting to act up !

Had the same problem last year in STL. There is a TSB about it - don't have a copy - sorry. It's some kind of fuel cut issue when the engine is cold. I too brought it to the dealership and they could not replicate it. That's because once it is warmed up - it will not happen. You basically have to drop it off the night before and have them try to start it first thing in the morning. My dealership service people are too big of idiots to do that - they took it overnight and then started it in the afternoon when the temp came up to 50 degrees - said there was no problem. It's tough to get them to replicate it unless they stay at your house overnight or you go to the dealership first thing. I am waiting for mine to start up again.

You guys need a block heater it should help for sure. I live in the coldest capital city in the world (no joke) and never have any problems if I leave it plugged in over night.

Can you pick one up aftermarket? If so, where and how much?

Your dealer should be able to help you out. I made sure my car had one when I took delivery.
