Who makes the Stillen Rotors?

I'm upgrading my brakes once and for all. The stock ones suck big time!

Does Brembo make the 5th gen Rotors for Stillen? Which are cheaper between the two? And is there any fitment issues?

From what I've heard you are correct about Brembo. Stillen gets them then jacks up the price.

Yup, Brembo makes the blanks while Stillen drills/slots the rotors.

So are the rotors available straight from Brembo for a lower cost or am I stuck with only Stillen?

Hey Phatguy,

Big Brake kit. Come into some money have we? Let us know how the mod works out. I've been edging around this mod for a while I actually like the price of the 300zxTT brakes mod but I don't have the contacts for cutting and stuff like that required to keep it cost effective (~$1000 total).

I read a post on here where a guy had, I think it was the stealin and the rotor broke or shattered and there was a long thread about cross drilling weakening the rotors and stuff like that so search it out. Anywhoz please share your findings.

Thanks

Well I was thinking of this:

http://www.eatricezone.com/MaxBrakeSale.htm

In part or whole and just trying to figure out if I can save any money at all not going with stillen. I've also been hearing that stock pads are fine? Are the Axxis that much better?

So the Porterfield are better than Axxis? Is there any fitment issues with either? The R4S show only 94-98 on their website?

I think they are, and so do a few other folks. I didn't have any fitment issues, but my front calipers are from a Z. They do have 2k+ pads, call them up and talk to a sales person.

Mention MaximaDriver.com to get a discount.

How about the Stillen Metal Matrix pads?
Anyone have any feedback on these or who makes them?

*cough* Axxis *cough* brake pads

For the previous comments... Stillen does the same thing as most other reputable brake manufacturers - they purchase a Brembo blank and do their own CNC machining. They also cadmium plate the rotor to prevent rust. KVR, Porterfield, Powerslot.. they are all companies that use Brembo blanks.

Brembo just recently started making their own stock size xdrilled rotors, though. I haven't checked on the pricing yet so I don't know if it's more or less than the real Brembos.
