Just back from the track, Faster MPH without CAI....

I just came back from the track and I ran the same ET of 15.5 but I went 91.99 mph without my CAI!!! I took the car to the dealer last week and I put the car back to the stock system to avoid dealer problems. I ran faster mph without it!

One problem though, on the next run I broke a motor mount because of excessive wheel hop! I was going to put on the ooglie CAI on the run after to compare, but now I wonder if it really makes a big difference!

Adam, You are sooOOOO lucky I didn't show. Because you didn't, I would have....had to.....kick your a$$. J/K.

You put this together and then you don't show. You my friend are scared!

We need to install a ZEX kit on your slow a$$, so you can back up some of the $hit you been talking to the Ackura boys. Especially, the Goldy-S one.

Let's figure out a date that's good for everyone in December and THEN you can start talking $hit to the Ackura boys.

Is Firebird even open then?

That might suck. I will be out of town Christmas week.

Will your car still be around on Jan. 4th?

i'll be back in az for thanksgiving like the 20th-26th of november and then back again from december 16-jan 16...around jan 10th i'm going to start parting out the car and probably jan6-10 i am taking a road trip to cali and tuscon w/ my friends (one has a free hotel pass at this resort place in tuscon so...gotta take advantage of that before it expires)...so we could do it anytime from the 16th of dec. to the 13th of jan or so...basically i am car-less out here and i am in need...since my car is just sitting in my garage (i found out that the battery is dead since my parents haven't driven it once (and they say kids are irresponsible?))...so basically i'm putting it back to stock and taking my old car...expedition down here since that will be better for the snow...speaking of which, it snowed today for the first time

so yeah...my parents will be driving around my max (in stock form) from the 16th until whenever they are able to sell it stock which is when i'll have to drive back the expedition to them and then find a supra whenever i can

Tell me it ain't so!! how did you run that with a 5sp? Don't 5th gen 5sp go like 14's out of the box?

I mean I have this weak old 3rd gen 190hp/190TQ 5sp. and it ran 15.5 totally stock with 150K miles.

Actually Russ I was thinking, the same thing happened to you huh? How hard are they to fix? I guess that doesn't matter because I am going to take it in to Nissan.

Once you break a few and Nissan won't repair them or your warranty expires, you should switch to PR motor mounts. They supposedly help drastically reduce wheel hop and withstand hard launches, but you'll feel more engine vibration through the steering wheel.

Some manual 5th gen needs to try these and see if they work.
