I live in MD, and I have cali-spec also.

It just depends on which area market you are in when it comes to emissions restrictions. All 2k1 and later models are cali-spec emissions anyways....

I was pretty pi$$ed off too. I don't understand how they allocate Cali/Fed spec cars across the country and I sure didn't expect a to get a Cali spec car here in Jersey. No biggie though, it's not that big of a difference right?

Have you seen the dyno plots between Auto/Cali spec versus Auto/Fed spec?

It depends on local laws. In large metropolitan areas like New York, Philadelphia, and their surrounding counties where they require emissions testing, the dealers order the cali-spec cars to meet legal requirements.

Cali-spec is also known as NLEV (Near Low Emissions Vehicle). That standard was just first developed to meet CARB (California Air Resources Board) requirements and the name stuck.

Most of the eastern seaboard is cali spec. Nissan is 50 state low emissions now anyway. Thee seems to be a 5 HP or so difference.

?

Pittsford is cool. Rochester isn't a bad place to live in general. Washington is to crowded for my likes. And your nuts! there is lots of things to do up here in Rock City!
