Good luck with the install, always wanted to switch out my seats for something a little more firm/supportive.

Got some progress in tonight, should be working on it further tomorrow. Not sure if I want to share until its done...

s2kver02, I will not be connecting the side airbags, as I did not have them before. I won't take that risk.

Update - 2/8/2008: Passenger seat in, G35 cushions modified to sit on 5.5 gen pan. Thus working with the rails and controls. Will update with further details and pics later. Drivers seat wont be able to be swapped until next week, as it must be done in one sitting.

Ok guys, here is the scoop: The top cushion (where your back sits) bolts RIGHT up to the maxima frame, bolts and notches, works great. The bottom cushion, requires a bit of trimming of the foam underneath. It doesn't sit exactly like it should on a G35 frame (will show you pictures of what I mean), but it can work. The rest is getting the clips/retainers to fit onto the Maxima seat pan. Doing this you retain the Maxima hardware, so wiring is a snap. I did not bother with side-airbags, and will not.

Three things I'm still working on:
1) Filling the spot where the G35 cushion has a spot for a switch (not that noticeable since it is next to the center console).
2) Finding a place to rest the Maxima power switches. The original seat has a cutout on the door-side within the seat. This is not the case with the G35 seat, and I don't want to cut out of it. They are connected, but just sitting next to the seat right now.
3) Heated seats... I want this badly, would be nice around now. I would have to check under the center console for this, so this will be a bit before I bother. The connections from the G35 cushions are power and ground, so if splicing is necessary, it shouldn't be too difficult to a switch.

When I do the driver's side, I will try to take pics of each step as the majority of time with the passenger's side was used to figure WTF we were doing next.

Update: Both seats are officially installed into the car! Worked most of the morning on a suspension fix and the driver's side seat. I took pictures of the important steps and will create a DIY for the installation of the cushions into the Maxima hardware. The heated seats thing will have to wait, as well as the fix for the switch holes. Shout out to Dark-V and StealthMax for helping me on these seats over the past week.
Attached is a picture of the passenger seat installed.

Thanks everyone, I was at my friends work (BMW) finishing up all of this, and I didn't get a chance to take some nice pictures of both since we had to leave and it started to snow outside.

I am not trying to get rid of the Infiniti logo, you would have known that if you read the first few posts, and I don't think anyone will get confused on what kind of car it is.

First and foremost, sorry guys to have slept on this thread and the DIY. It is pretty involved to do the swap, but I will work on the DIY very shortly and get some diagrams and the pictures related.

If you looked a few posts up, I attached a picture of the passengers seat installed. It is not "placed" in the car for good measure, it is installed.

I kinda slept on this project for the final details as I was lazy and didn't want to remove any of the seats.

Status:
Both seats installed.
Controls working on both (except for passenger seat reclining, as I think I shorted the motor while plugging it back in) Tip: Wait a while for the charge to remove or disconnect battery first.
Heated seats, not ventured yet.
Controls mounted on passenger seat only, drivers seat controls are just connected.

Torgus and other local members can vouch as they have seen and sat in these seats.
