Bad CV Joint?

After searching and doing some research, I believe I have a bad CV joint. First of all, there is always a clunking noise when accelerating or decelerating. Second, yesterday coming back home from a long trip, I noticed that there is a very noticeable vibration when driving at speeds over 60 mph and slightly turning left (following the curves on a highway). It's fine when driving straight or slightly turning right. However, there seems to be no cliking when making sharp turns at low speeds. I checked the bearings about a week ago and there was no play either. Did anyone have a similar problem?

If you replace them, obviously replace them with raxles. I did mine about 4 months ago and they are great.

I think I was wrong again. I jacked up the car, checked the right wheel and there was play again!!! I re-tightened the axle and it seems fine now. I'll have to find a big torque wrench and make sure to tighten it to spec this time.

Cotter pin only prevents the nut from coming off all the way. there is still a gap between the pin and the nut.

take of your front wheels, it's the one on the center with a big pin in front of it.

Does anyone know if the transverse link replacement involves taking off the axle nut? If that so, I wonder if they never tighten them back to spec.
