Car won't start HELP

I know this has probably been posted a million times but I had to do it. Just got from being outside with my startless maxima.

So it's an o2 with of course the 3.5L

I can hear the fuel pump kick on and another small noise from inside the engine compartment when I turn the key without starting it. So basically it cranks and cranks and cranks with no starting. My first and about fifth attempt at starting it came close to running...

Work that was done to it late last year was fuel pump fuel pump relays and that's mostly it. Any suggestions without me having to get towed into the dealership is greatly appreciated!!!

As for maintenance is FULLY up to date.

Does it have fuel? Try checking the ECU codes.

Sorry I haven't had a chance yet of checking the ECU codes.... How do I go about checking the codes? Just go over to my local advanced auto parts and pick up a little code reader for a hundred bucks or so?

Any particular and brand and model recommended in a reader?

The battery is only about 6 months old and there is a little over half a tank of gas in the car but the cranking power is very strong from the battery.

Try and have them read it with their reader for free.

The 02-03 code checking procedure is a PITA. later today after work I can PM you how to do it if you have not had any success @ AutoZone or other similar stores.

Sounds good and I'm just going to go and buy the machine and probably end up returning it if it's a useless piece of electronics.

I just got done checking all the fuses for the hell of it I think there was only 1 or 2 that would affect the fuel system in any way but they were all ok.

I do have a warranty on my car but I'm trying to avoid having it towed there and losing my Max for 2 days at least...

If you've got the money to spare, sure why not. But try going in and asking if they will read them for free. Most if not all AutoZones do.

Well I bought the machine and the codes are

P1610 NATS_MALFUNCTION sounds like it has to do with the vehicle immobilizer which would cause the car to not start
P1612 NATS_MALFUNCTION is part of the anti-theft system
P0455 AUXILIARY EMISSION CONTROL which is usually gas cap

So is there any way possible for me to program my own immobilizer?

I found some interesting software called Nissan Super Code which allows anyone to program your own keys but I don't have the serial for the software

One last thing that I'd like to add is when trying to start my car my security light in the middle of my dashboard stays solid red I don't know if that is normal or not?

I'm having the car towed to the dealership for the reprogramming of the immobilizer chip in the keys since 2 of the 3 codes was for that. I'll post my results and for anyone that knows they have a sound running car DO NOT TRY TO START YOUR CAR MORE THEN 3 TIMES cause you might have a chip that has gone bad in your key and it will lock you out of being able to start your car....

it's more like a service procedure than a repair TSB.
You should have tried another key or the valet before going in.

I did try another key before going in and no luck and the dealership I bring my car to is a nice legitimate operation... plus the car is under warranty anyways so it only cost me 50 bucks.

So maybe someone can add that to the list of codes or whatever if there is one

P1610
P1612

=Immobilizer

the part is only 130 bucks or so
