Which is best?

I've tried the search feature, but for some reason I'm not getting what I'm looking for.

If this has been discussed, please direct me to the link, it will be very much appreciated and please do not flame me.

If this has NOT been discussed then my question is, which pump offer the best quality gas for the maxima?

I know you guys down the south probably have more brand name pumps, but here in the whtie north is probably different.

Most of you guys go with V-Power?

Thanks "eh"

i've read about the regular vs. premium.
now i want to know which premium is the best, i dont think that all premiums are the same, aren't they?

here we have like...Shell, Husky(Mohawk), Co-op, etc...

V-Power is the brand name given to Shell's high specification Super Unleaded gasoline. thought you were using it as a generic term for premium

I normally aim for BP (Amoco) or shell stations. I've never had problems with bad gas from either

to answer the question...i use what ever is cheaper and close. as long as you are using premium, there isnt enough difference to matter. dont let advertising convince you that one place is better.

The octane rating is a measure of the autoignition resistance of gasoline or petrol and other fuels used in spark-ignition internal combustion engines. It is a measure of anti-detonation of a gasoline or fuel.

Octane number is the number which gives the percentage, by volume, of iso-octane in a mixture of iso-octane and normal heptane, that would have the same anti-knocking capacity as the fuel which is under consideration. For example, gasoline with the same knocking characteristics as a mixture of 90% iso-octane and 10% heptane would have an octane rating of 90.

as usual, most people only read half the post. In Canada (the great white north) shell v-power gas is probably better than most because there is no ethanol in the 91 octane. Sunoco, Esso, and PetroCrap, all have ethanol in the gas which increases power but lowers mileage because it burns faster.

That's a bad habit you have... Where does it say "Americans don't know what they are talking about?"

I tend to lean toward Shell v-power only... I'm sure that many gas station chains come from same or similar refineries, but it's also a mind factor for me since I can't say for sure.
To me, it's like an example as such... two cups of water although one is purified and the other is tap. then you put a teaspoon of sugar into each cup of water. Sure that the claim of the cup of tap water contains a teaspoon of sugar which is also the same amount in the purified water, but of course I will choose the purified cup of water.
Chervon and shell are both up top of the list for me. I pick Shell because they are always cheaper than Chervon (plus free collectable mircofiber cloth!!!)

I stick with Chevron, Shell and QT since they are all Top Tier rated gas.

IMO some brands are ....less quality...like turkey hill, wawa, sheetz, liberty gas, us gas, and your average non chain station.....etc...nomatter what grade...
i came to that opinion because a few seperate times i filled up at cheapo stations and got some bad pinging....and immedately after the next fill ups at a standard gas station...and it went right away...(same exact grades)
I but thats just my .02

I side with Sooner. Buy from whomever is selling it cheaper. Some of the "not so top tier" gas stations in Canada buy their gas from the same suppliers as the top tier retailers. I'm thinking of the gas stations such as Sunny's, Mr. Gas, etc. These guys don't have their own refineries. They just buy from the big guys. So in the end you are putting the same gas into your car but its usually cheaper.
