2002 SE - I removed the two torx 20 screws and tried to pull the MAF out, but it did NOT want to come out. I could definitely apply more force, but I just wanted to check on here to make sure I didn't miss something.

BTW - I'm just trying to clean it w/ some CRC Mass Air Flow Cleaner.

 

mine didnt want to pop out either I just put the screwdriver between the seal and popped that bad boy out, just my 2 cents

 

Is there a small clip on one side that you would have to lift over a lip?? Took mine out a few months ago and I think that's what I did. You may have to squeeze, or use something to pry it over the lip IIRC.

 

twisting motion + pulling motion = success

there is no clips, just use some force

 

Ok thanks guys! I just didn't want to make an expensive mistake being a meathead.

 

any pics of where the MAF is located? I want to take mine out and clean it also...

 

intake tube that connects the airbox to the throttle body.

 

 

what is that setup you have between the Tb and the airbox for the maf. Nmemax
